Bristol, Penn. – In 1968, entrepreneurs Rosa and Bernie Meyers left their corporate jobs behind and began their dream – Robern – Ro + Bern = Robern. A new name, for a new era in design, the Meyers first sold bathroom products from their home in Philadelphia, starting what would become a revolutionary change in intuitive bathroom design. Bernie Meyers was a visionary and seeing a lack of easy-to-install, sliding-door mirrored medicine cabinets, he decided to put his ideas to paper and designed and manufactured the first Robern cabinet – the MirroWall – beginning a 27-year design legacy of modular, functional luxury mirrored medicine cabinets.
From the company’s start, it was Robern’s sophisticated modular designs that made it sought out by architects and designers in nearby New York City and other large metropolitan cities, where apartment redesigns required a variety of configurations. Meyers’ solutions-based ingenuity was the catalyst behind Robern’s early success. What followed is an enduring legacy of craft, engineering, and form effortlessly following function that continues to set us apart and remains behind Robern’s diverse and award-winning product portfolio today.
In 1995, Robern joined the Kohler Co. family of businesses, keeping its headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Bristol, Penn. Robern, with its pioneering spirit and uncompromising design ideal, takes a keen eye to new product development, continually moving the mark with technologically advanced designs and an out-of-the-box approach to personal storage rarely available in the mass marketplace. Some of the latest examples are the comprehensive Craft Series of suites that brings handcraft to the forefront, while removing the guesswork out of bathroom design with standalone pieces that also work beautifully together. The new designs also focus on the Robern commitment towards wellness and the brand’s understanding on how products can play a role in overall wellbeing and a healthier lifestyle. Among these imaginative designs, Robern has introduced advanced tunable lighting, organization options to keep everything in its place, and the award-winning IQ Digital Lock Box, which tucks away medicine and valuables for additional peace of mind in the home.
Through collaborative design and intuitive technology, its problem-solving, custom-scaled modular solutions, and made-to-order designs, Robern has built an industry reputation for tailored bathrooms of unsurpassed quality. The Robern business model is steeped in four guiding principles – meaningful innovation, unparalleled craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and uncompromising quality – ideals that have been the foundation upon which Robern has framed its business ideology for the past 54 years.
Whether selected for a five-star luxury commercial property or a personal residence, Robern finds that the definition of luxury continues to evolve, valuing personal health and betterment above all else. By expanding its product portfolio with designs that resonate with thoughtful design, reliable performance, and cutting-edge technology, Robern continues to break new ground with some of the most unique and intuitive products available in the marketplace today.
From its humble beginnings to a technological force within design, Robern remains the answer for designers, architects, and consumers seeking out the finest in sophisticated cabinetry, vanities, mirrors, lighting, and accessories.
